ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands, 9 April , 2001
K.I.T. eLearning announced today that it is partnering with the China
Educational Services Center (CESC), a division of the Ministry of Education,
to distribute its online masters programs in China. This is the first
time that a foreign company has been invited by an organization affiliated
with the Chinese government to deliver online academic programs on a national
basis.
K.I.T eLearning will offer the University of Liverpool's Master of Science
in Information Technology and Master of Business Administration to active
professional people, using an online virtual classroom that can be delivered
directly to the home, workplace, or school, anywhere in China. Students
will be able to complete either program in about eighteen months, without
the need to travel to a residential center or interrupt their professional
activities to study abroad.
"We were convinced by the high-value opportunity that a partnership
with K.I.T. eLearning represents for some of our most promising young
people," said Hou Honglei, President of the CESC. "We expect
great demand for both programs, given the critical need for qualified
leadership in both the I.T. field and management." Students based
in China will participate in online classrooms with other professional
people from around the world, dialoguing with them to achieve insight,
skills, and cutting-edge knowledge in the critical areas that impact their
daily job performance.
"We're delighted, but not surprised, that the CESC selected K.I.T.
eLearning to be the first provider of online academic programs to China,"
said Shai Reshef, chairman of K.I.T. "This confirms our vision of
a growing world market for educational services that provide unique opportunities
for active professional people, and the organizations that employ them,
by being highly-tailored to each individual's schedule, work environment,
and career needs".
