| Liverpool, UK – On 28 January 2005, almost one hundred
working professionals received their Masters degrees from the University
of Liverpool Online Higher Educational programmes, delivered in
partnership with online expert Laureate Online Education. The graduation
ceremony was held on the historic University of Liverpool campus.
The occasion marked an important ‘first’ for the successful,
100% online programme: it was the very first on-campus graduation
ceremony devoted exclusively to these online programmes in their
5-year history. The University of Liverpool/Laureate’s unique
online learning environment enabled them to complete demanding Masters
programmes in Business Administration and Information Technology
without attending a single traditional, on-campus class, offering
them the flexibility to complete the challenging course on their
own time schedule.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Drummond Bone. “The success of the
University’s online Masters programmes reflects not just the
global demand for professionals to be highly qualified, but also

My decision to pursue this online course was decided by my working
environment – I needed to manage carefully the time I dedicated
to study,” says Paul Allen, an IT Project Manager for IBM
UK who received his MBA. He found one of the “very many benefits

and tutors, who brought to each module their individual wealth of
business knowledge.”
