The University of Liverpool and KIT eLearning Announce Their First Graduates
From the Online Masters of Science in IT

The University of Liverpool together with its worldwide eLearning partner
K.I.T. celebrated their first graduates on December 11th, 2002. Two years
after the launch of the MSc in IT programme, one Dutch and two British
students were the first of the more than 1200 students currently enrolled
in the online MSc in IT and MBA programmes, to receive their diplomas.

Around 200 students, university faculty and KIT staff gathered at the
University of Liverpool to attend the student event. Whilst many of the
attendees came from around the UK, some came from as far away as Tanzania,
Uganda, Canada, Cyprus and Bulgaria.

After the morning graduation ceremony, students gathered in the
afternoon at a welcome reception where many of them had the opportunity
to meet each other for the first time 'in the flesh'.

Professor Drummond Bone, Vice Chancellor of The University of Liverpool
commented: "We have seen our online masters programmes really
take-off in a very short space of time and firmly believe that they
are among the most successful offered by any UK university.

According to Shai Reshef, Chairman of KIT eLearning, "This important
milestone lays the foundation for many more graduates in the future. A
much larger group of students will receive their diplomas in the graduation
ceremony in 2003."
