The University of Liverpool and its eLearning partner KIT eLearning
held a student event in Toronto, Canada on September 20th, 2003.
More than sixty students, faculty, staff and friends gathered at
the National Club for this extra curricular social event, which
enabled participants of the virtual eLearning community to meet
each other face to face.
|
|
This event marked a significant milestone in KIT's history because
it was the first social student gathering to be held on the North
American continent. Previously student events have only taken place
in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, residents of which represent
the two largest groups in the student body of the online MBA &
MSc in IT.

According to Shai Reshef, Chairmen & Co-CEO of KIT eLearning
"it was inevitable for KIT to hold a student event in Canada
given that Canadian students represent the third largest group of
students in the online Masters programmes. These social events have
proven to be very valuable for relationship building and are highly
appreciated by our students who often come from around the world
to meet their fellow classmates in person."

Kathleen M. Kelm, Senior University of Liverpool / KIT Instructor
shared her academic knowledge in a lecture entitled "Security
and Privacy: International Challenges For Organisations and Professionals"
which addressed contemporary topics in the ever changing IT field.
Kathleen instructs the Security Engineering and the Operating Systems
modules in the MSc in IT programme.

|
On behalf of The University of Liverpool and KIT eLearning we would
like to thank everyone that attended the student event and certainly
look forward to hosting our upcoming student event in Liverpool.
Sincerely,
Your KIT team
